My Favorite Things!

Hello my beautiful friends! My summer is off and running probably just like you. I am often asked what I use and some things I just can't live without. Well, here are a few of my favorite things.

~ My Favorite Things~

1. Primer- I can not stress this enough how much you need a primer. It takes you to a makeup artist level with your makeup application. I'm asked when I'm out how my makeup looks so fresh, PRIMER is my secret weapon! WB Cosmetic Primer www.WendiBraswell.com

2. Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer- Love this and use in the firming formula. Has just enough sheen and natural gradual color.

3. Aveeno Leave In Treatment- You all know I have tons of hair and it can be dry because of all my color processing, so a leave in treatment is key to tame my mane! This is a new product that I tried and just loved the softness it gave my hair.

4. SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense- O.K., So a few months ago I started to get "chin" acne. Everything I tried failed and I chalked it up to hormones! My friend Kara at The Body Bar recommended this product and I have not had one chin breakout since and my skin looks
clear and even.

5. Tinted Moisturizer with SPF- During these hot summer months I lighten up and take a break from foundations but still need to cover some redness. This does the trick and gives me great sheer coverage and is oil-free! WB Cosmetic

Summer is all about relaxing your beauty routine so enjoy your glow and go play!
Stay bright and beautiful,

~ Gift's For Mom~

Mother's Day is arriving fast. Honor her with something that matches her interests, passions and purpose.

Gift Giving Guide for every Mom-

Stylish Mom- She's the Mom who won't leave the house without lipstick. Treat her to a new spring purse or a new pair of stylish sunglasses.
She may also love a gift card to her favorite clothing store and a day out shopping together.

Crafty Mom- She likes to work with her hands. A scrapbook starter kit is a great gift for her to create and keep her memories. Try a flower and pot as a gift to plant together. She will always love a trip to a local pottery to create her very own work of art.

Foodie Mom- She's the Mom who is happiest in the kitchen. Get her a basket filled with her favorite goodies including fun gadgets. A gift card to her favorite restaurant is a great treat for someone always in the kitchen. Stay in and cook her favorite dinner together, you will be sure to share some laughs.

There is no way to be a perfect mother, and a million ways to be a good one. ~ Jill Churchill

Are you a Transformer?

We have all wanted to "transform" or change at one season of our life or another. It could have been an inward or outward transformation but we just wanted to appear different. I recently spoke at an event that was titled "Transformed". I got to thinking about what that really meant and looked up the definition. Transformed means to undergo a change in form, appearance, or character. Well, I've had plenty of those! Throughout my journey or transformation there have been many in forms of my character and even more in my appearance! My hope for you is take a look at your outward appearance and ask yourself does it match your inside transformation.

Your transformation will start with these 5 things!

5 Things To Transform YOU this Year~

1. Good Bra- I know I know I've said it before but it does matter and sets the foundation to your whole outfit! Dillards and Nordstroms offer free bra fittings, just do it!

2. Great Jeans- Yes I still see mom jeans out there, girls what are you thinking?! Start with a dark wash bootcut, you will appear thinner and current and that's a good thing. Always try them on and they should fit in thigh/ hip area, waist can be taken in.

3. Wear Accessories- I can't live without my accessories! I can transform any boring outfit to something fabulous PLUS show my own personal style. Don't know were to start? Try starting off with wearing earrings, they will add sparkle to your face. You can also make a statement with a great handbag, sunglasses or try color.

4. Makeup- Of course I'm going to say this, because it is the cherry on the top of your look. If you don't wear any makeup, you should it should only bring out your best features and if you wear too much, tone it down and let your beauty shine through. Never had a professional makeup lesson? That will help you know how to hide your flaws and bring out your best !

5. Current Haircut and Color- I'm not talking about your friend or neighbor down the street, it's time to buckle down and get a new cut and color. The right cut can transform your face as well as the right color can brighten you! Visit a professional to get a free consultation.

What will your outward transformation look like? Be a TRANSFORMER today!

Happy spring:)

'Tis The Season to LOVE

A group of 4-to-8 year-olds were asked the question, "What does love mean?" As usual with children, the answers often offer wisdom. Bobby – age 7 – said this, “Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.”

Wow, this was part of my devotion this week. It really struck something in me. It seems Christmas creeps up on me every year and I seem to try to keep up with all the activities. With all my events, parties and charity work nothing matters more to me than loving my family.

So, as you head out today to do your last minute Christmas shopping here are some tips to make it easier.
1. Always make it personal and think of something they would not normally buy.
2. Make a budget and stay on it!
3. Keep it simple, quality vs. quantity.
4. Shop local to support your community.
5. Wrap it pretty! They will be so excited to open it.

The best gift you could ever give is your undivided attention. Be in the moment when you are with your friends and family, you just might learn something new.

This Christmas, as 7-year-old Bobby said love is in the room. Take time to push aside the hustle and bustle of the season to listen closely. For the greatest gift was given in Bethlehem. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior – yes, the Messiah, the Lord – has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” (Luke 2:10-12)

Merry Christmas,

How NOT To Look Old

Women are always asking me how to look younger and I am going to be really honest today and talk to you about how NOT to look old. These are things I continually see women do and it instantly makes them look older they they are! We need to face reality, we are in a image driven society. You may be looking for a job, going through a divorce, recovering from illness, or a stay at home mom. The fact is you want to look and FEEL your best.

So, How NOT To Look Old...

1. Skip the Dark Lip Liner or Lipstick- Never a good look to see a dark lip liner or lipstick very aging-instead go for light glossy pink. Try my new FAV color "Socialite" by WB Cosmetics

2. Over Plucked Eyebrows-Instantly makes you look older and over arching is scary -solution is fuller natural looking arch not too dark.

3. Get Bangs- Yes, hides those forehead wrinkles and even get soft hi-lights, it is a "soft focus" for your face.

4. Dark Makeup- Avoid matte face, heavy concealer/foundation,thick eyeliner-instead try lighter dewey finish foundation, less powder and curl lashes on top and top off with mascara (an instant eye opener!)

5. Buy a BODY Shaper- No more muffin tops! Can transform your outfit from lumpy to FABULOUS. Are available at Target to Nordstroms depending on budget.

6. Lift Your Boobs- There I said it, I see this daily saggy boobs covering way to much torso. Get a bra fitting and lift those girls! You WILL look thinner and clothes will fit better.

7. Throw Away Mom Jeans- Trade in for DARK denim with a slight flare at bottom, not too low.

8. Yellow Teeth-Gives away your age instantly, invest in good whitening treatment. I love Crest Whitestrips!

9. Thongs- No more granny panties!

10. Nails- Long nails are dated! Choose dark trendy color for toes and light sheer color for hands.

I promise if you implement some or all of these things you will look and feel younger PLUS get tons of great feedback.

Fall back in LOVE with you!

Hi friends!

By now your kids are back to school and you are back to homework, packing lunches, and running to sporting events. I have to admit I was excited to get back to a routine and doing more of what I love (helping woman with style and makeup). You're probably like me and forget about all those little things that give you joy. For me, it could be as simple as a good cup of coffee, laugh with a great friend, or new pair of trendy earrings. As we head into fall we need to fall back in LOVE with who we are. We are just who God created us to be, no more no less. What we choose to do with our creation is another story. How we present ourself to the world says volumes to what we think about on the inside. Good news! We can change our outward appearance and sometime even get a boost from inside out.

You matter! You are worth adorning and endowed with beauty by your creator. Let's get started on YOUR journey to be your very best.

Here are my favorite Fall Beauty Trends to try:
1. RED LIPS-classic and chic, for a softer look try gloss
2. DEFINED BROWS- still in and elongate ends for that "Supermodel Look"
3. ROSY CHEEKS- love this look, looks best on matte face and higher on cheekbones
4. DARK EYES- only for the trendy but try with blues, browns, and black shadow
5. MESSY BUNS- already wearing this trend, just tease first and put in loose ponytail

Have fun and take a risk! Be blessed and beautiful,
Wendi
